Myndee Reed is a partner resident in the firm’s Hutchinson office. Her practice is focused on litigation, including business litigation and insurance defense, and adoption related matters both domestic and international. She is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Kansas.
After graduating with honors from Montana State University, in Bozeman, Montana, Myndee returned to her Kansas roots to attend law school at Washburn University School of Law, where she graduated in 2001. She has practiced with the Martindell firm since graduation.
Myndee served as co-counsel in a shareholder action alleging breach of fiduciary duty resulting in judgment in excess of 1.2 million dollars and participated in the prosecution and settlement of an agricultural chemical products liability action resulting in confidential settlement representing 92% of presuit demand.
Myndee has assisted over 100 families with their adoptions, both domestic and international, and she is currently assisting families whose children entered the United States on humanitarian visas due to the earthquake in Haiti. In addition to her adoption work at the trial court level, she successfully appealed a decision in which the district court had ordered an adoption to be set aside, In Re Adoption of K.L.S., 118 P.3d 177.
As a mother of two adopted children, Myndee is actively involved in the adoption community. She has served as board President of Shiloh Adoptions and Bethany Christian Services of Kansas, and serves on the advisory board for Open Door Pregnancy Care Center. Myndee participated in a roundtable discussion with Senator Sam Brownback focusing on adoption related matters, including the Kansas foster care system.
Myndee is a member of the American, Kansas and Reno County Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Hutchinson Women’s Attorney’s Association and has served as President of that local Association.
Myndee provides pro bono legal services to members of the Kansas Army National Guard and received the prestigious Molly Pitcher Award which is given to recognize women who have voluntarily contributed in a significant way to the improvement of the Field Artillery Community.
Myndee has four children and one grandson.
