          Mr. Bertholf was raised on a family farm in Kingman County, Kansas. He graduated from The University of Kansas in 1970, from The University of Kansas School of Law in 1973, and he engaged in the solo practice of law until his affiliation with Martindell Swearer Shaffer Ridenour, LLP.

           Mr. Bertholf practices general corporate and cooperative law from the KFSA Building in Hutchinson. His experience with farmers’ cooperative issues includes structure and governance, articles of incorporation and bylaws, management/board/member relations, employment law practices and policies, environmental law and insurance law, and collection of accounts receivable. He focuses on acquisitions and dispositions of assets, mergers and consolidations, and joint ventures and subsidiaries of farmer cooperatives and other agribusinesses.
