The Kansas Human Rights Commission (KHRC) announced today that the KHRC will follow the United States Supreme Court's interpretation that Title VII's “sex” discrimination prohibition includes employment discrimination on the basis of homosexuality and transgender status.  The KHRC will interpret “sex” discrimination under the Kansas Act Against Discrimination (KAAD) to include discrimination based on LGBTQ and all derivates of “sex” in the KAAD's  employment, housing, and public accommodation anti-discrimination provisions for “sex.” 

The KHRC will be issuing guidance in the near future.
